My sweet 5yo has been repeatedly requesting a maxi skirt now, for months, and I've been gleefully ignoring her request as I didn't really have a pattern for it and after looking around I wasn't sold on any of the existing patterns.
Then a week ago I made a mash of the Tadah Patterns Breeze Dress and the Tea Party dress using the hi-/lo skirt from the Breeze (which I can't show you yet) for my 3yo, tried it on the 5yo and LIGHTBULB!!! "I could totally make a skirt out of this pattern" so that's what I did and guess what? She's basically lived in the skirt for days now!
So, I shared it in the Tadah Pattern Group and got an overwhelmingly positive response, which led me to lightbulb moment number two: use it as my first pattern hack for 2018!!
I hope you guys like it as much as Miss 5!
I've paired it here with a CkC Gladys Leotard which I've developed a mild obsession for making!
This is Miss 3 in her skirt, paired with a LilLuxe Alley Cat Leo, which from my previous posts you know I'm obsessed with!
Now, to find some time to blog the other makes I've done for January!
Happy sewing
T xx
